Mini Race Symbol

I've begun the process of changing the New Republic from an avatar of the Federation to a separate faction. I've got the race symbol working but it doesn't show in the command palate where the rest of the system icons are displayed. Here is a screen shot. I need to get the race symbol moved over in the overlay box and to show up in the command palate. Any help would be appreciated.
