Any ideas how I would create a Mine Laying Station, that would create mines surrounding the station?
Thanks in Advance

From the Hitchhiker's guide:

You could probably take a look at the generix support to see how it it lays mines. Perhaps there's a way to do it within a radius around the mine laying station.

Creating an overlaysod using mines instead of shuttles, you could have a minefield around the station? You could set the range and detectradius to long or artillery, it would track at a good distance without needing an active field.
Maybe a bored modder at MSFC would accept such a small request?

I could see how to do this, have the minelayer have multiple building options (placed at differnt angles).
When you build the field, it creates de-activated mines in that angle. You then bring the mine layer to each mine, and use a saucer intergrator type special to dock with the mine, activate it, and get back the minelayer and a activated mine.
This could allow, for a price, teh building of large mien fields, quickly.
That, or allow mine droping ships a quicker refire and barley any cost, but only if they are within X range of the previous mine, but not too close, basicly as long as you're spreading them out at reasonable distances.
that, or have a mine layer (limited number allowable, very expenseve) that cant have special energy rechargers/stealers used on it, which either doesnt regen spec energy or does so real slow, but can pop out a lot of mines. You use it, then hide it (or decom it)
