MSFC, does host the older versions however you do need to be active for two weeks and have been posting a little. Alternatively have you checked google, done a search and tried to find them through the web?
As for the hierarchy question, if I am understanding you correctly, you can't not without starting again. As the hierarchy (parent nodes/joints) need to be in first before you can add the secondary ones like the hardpoint for weapon layouts, lights, emitters etc.
