What would I have to do to get the fighter squads buildable? Not from the carrier ofcourse but from the starbase. Obviously I want them to behave in the same way as they do now just being controlled by player/ai.

Do you want to build them individually?  All you have to do to make them controlable is find the ignoreinterface = 1 line and make it 0.  If you want to build them in groups of three that is more complicated.

...Or are you trying to have the starbase deploy fighters...

Refer to T.U.N's sigma mod for the ansers to this, one of the factions uses deployed drones built by the star base that follow command pillars around the map. it wworks like the fighter system for you.

One button gets me "x" ships SW:EAW style and yes controllable.

I imagine you could make an invisible untargettable "selector ship" that the fighters could guard, and when all the fighters die it self destructs. don't know how feasible that is.

Well, that is a bit harder...   it actually doesn't work very well.  I explained the process in an earlier post.  I will try to find it.

EDIT: well, I can't find it...  Here is a brief summary.

Launch a fighter from the station.  this fighter should be controllable.  This fighter launches X number of other fighters that are not controllable, instantly.  The fighters should follow the other fighter pretty well, attach the same ships, etc.  The only problem is what happens when the main fighter is destroyed. :sweatdrop:

As I said, it doesn't work very well, and is pretty complicated to do. :sweatdrop:

Actualy that could be fixed by slightly raizing te defence of the main fighter, so it not auto targeted

true, but if it is destroyed, you still have that problem.

What's wrong with my suggestion? I'm not expecting it to be right, just would like to know if it is at all feasible.

I think the self destructing part is all that wouldn't work.  it is a good idea otherwise.

wormholes can be partnered to disapear when a certain unit gets destroyed so i think it would be posible for a unit to get destroyed when another unit is destroyed

So, I would need just a blank sod file and have the fighters "attacthed" to it.

well, yeah, the blank sod with odfs and all.  You would have to figure out how to controll that blank sod also.
