Does anyone know where i can get a decent Luna Class for FleetOps, the best i can find on armada 2 files is the one done by K_Merse, looks great however cannot work out the odf and other bits and bobs to get it to work with Fleetops?

any ideas?

Thanks

That is the best one, and you are right, it's odf's won't work, but with not too much work you can get it in and playable. :)

You can do a couple things. First, if you don't want to mess with modding, just put the textures in your FO texture folder, and copy the .sod into the addon folder. Then, rename the .sod to the name of a model in the game. If you wanted to replace the, say akira, then rename the model fed_akira.sod. Then the akira will just look like a luna ingame. :) Things like scaling might be a little off, but can be tweaked easily.

If you want actually add it to the game, instead of replacing a whole ship, or maybe just one avatars ship, it will take a more work. I'll leave it up to you as to what you want and I'll try to help as much as I can. :thumbsup:

Yea, i dont really want to replace a ship, however if that would be easier then its what i will do. i would prefer to have it as a standalone ship that i could put in maysons yard.

thanks

Well, the problem with that is you would basically have to completely redo all the buttons and wireframes, figure out the values for its defense and offense, etc, and make 6 ranks of odf's + all the weapons..... it gets monotonous. Let me contact k_merse about it, and if he gives me permission I think I will have the time to make you a mod to add it. It eould be much easier than trying to explain it all. Unless you just want it explained, in which case I would be happy oblige. :)

Why would you have to redo all the buttons and wireframes? Just make it a single-ship one of its own.

You would have to make all new buttons and wireframes and background images.

Sorry so what would need to be done? I get the ODF bits as all i would need to do is add the ones to what ever ship i would want it to be similar to and then tweak the special weapons and so forth?

Its the whole buttons and wireframes that are way beyond me?

Could anyone help me here?

Thanks

I would suggest reading this page on the guide. Hopefully it will help you underhand a bit more. :thumbsup:

Since there aren't actually any buttons for the Luna in FO, I will try and make you a set that you can use. :thumbsup:

Ok, assuming your luna class is called fed_luna, Add the following lines to the following files.

Note that doing this will break multiplayer compatibility.

In your sprites folder, you will find a file called miniimages.spr. Add the following line to the bottom of the file. You may need to save them to the desktop and the whole file back over to overwrite it.

fed_lunaw1 miniimages4 128 0 128 128

in a file called systembackgrounds.spr, add the following line to the bottom

fed_luna_si systembackgrounds12 0 640 512 128

in a file called gui_global.spr add the following lines to the bottom

@reference=512
@tmaterial=interface
b_fed_luna all_interface_buildbuttons09 208 104 96 96 # 3 2

Then, simply unzip and move the attached textures into your textures folder and overwrite when prompted.

Again, any modification you do to your main install will break multiplayer compatibility. :)

If you did all that ^^ and got the ship with its own odf's ingame, it should have buttons and wireframes, etc :thumbsup: . Let me know if you have any problems.

Haha no problem. I had to teach myself how to do those things, and eventually it becomes pretty easy to do. :blush:
