The problem is rotating hp's in MS3D is the biggest hair pulling nightmare to pull off ever because you can never tell what direction hp's are facing in that horrible program. Once the devs release an SOD exporter for 3DS that should solve it though.

Yeah, with the exception of a solution being in sight, it's what I've been hearing for years now from the ship maker side of moding.

Once that SOD exporter comes out, I have a feeling that suddenly HP Placement and HP use in the .odf will become a BIG point of mods.

Weapon - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations
fireArc

Float, Default: 0

Determines the firing arc of the weapon as orthogonal to the facing of the hardpoint. This is measured in radians, but rounded to avoid issues at the extremeties. 0 is the same as 2π (or 360 firing arc)

firearc = 1.61 //This is a ~180 degree firing-arc

In other words, it is 1.61 so that it won't cut off fire at the edges of the firing arc.

There is already an exporter for 3DS max, it just only works with 3DS max 4+5. I have it somewhere on my pc if you would like it just PM me just download it from Armada SOD 3DsMax Exporter

I dont have 3DS max or any graphical software. Tho I'd be more than happy to work on editing .odf's if someone did do some corrected hardpoint models (I'd just need a chart showing what hardpoint is were)
