Exactly the first point. I added some new stations in (eyecandy only) and shall be a Defend or Assault map. The player can choose between Federation and Dominion Forces all preset on the map already.

In Armada 1 were many maps available of that kind.

Here I uploaded you some Editor screenshots so that you get a better idea of what I'm trying to do.

Ah - well, there are three ways to accomplish that (that I can think of).

The first is to manually set all the units to their respective teams after loading up the game. However, that won't give the units goals, and instead you'll just be battling them out like on a normal AI game.

The second is to create an Assault map, which basically presets the units to their respective teams, but has the same problem of the second part (the AI is 'dumb' and travels in fleets)... It also requires additional modding, which I don't know how to help you with  :sweatdrop:

The third way, and probably the best way, is to use Megadroid's Mission Mod to create a mission using those units, allowing you to set up scripts and win scenarios, and routines for all those ships. In my opinion that's the 'coolest way', but may not be what you want. If it is, I recommend visiting his site Megadroid's Mission Mod - Index and learning how to use the script :) . Again, something I can't help with, but it may be what you are looking to have. The guide should eventually have a tutorial written by Megadroid, but I believe he has half completed tutorials on the forum at the moment to help :)

Well thats exactly what I did Team1 is Federation and Team2 is Dominion. When I set those teams on the settings I'm always starting on an empty map.

I'm not sure about Megadroids script tool. I wanted it as regular map so that real people or you alone can play vs the ai and each other with another human. Is there something special maybe I need to setup in the map options. So far I tried to force teams and even forced the specific race for starting point 1 & 2 but without any effect.

Yes, unfortunately setting it up like that and starting a game will not work - it'll just delete all those units. In order to play it like that, you'll have to load it in the map editor, then hit CTRL+E and jump into normal gameplay mode I believe. Still, it's a silly work around that isn't so fun  :sweatdrop:

Megadroid's scripting tool just allows you to have more control over how you want the game to progress by letting you create your own mission :). Not sure if multiplayer missions will be enabled however  :sweatdrop:. As it is, since you put so many units in the game, if you want people to play it they'll need to have all those units as well.

Unfortunately, FO currently does not allow the other map options like Assault, King of the Hill, etc to function (I think), without at least some modding effort.

Hm alright then I will take a closer look to megadroids stuff. It looks a bit familiar so far.

I scripted some years ago for a game called Operation Flashpoint created missions & campaigns. I guess that experience will be helpful for his tool. Still pitty that it doesn't work. :(

And I didn't include that many new units at all.

Only the Starfleet Command Starbase - Jupiterstation are new the remaining stuff is FO Standard.
Additionaly I equipped the Premonition & Prometheus with weapons they crashed the game before.
