Any ideas for the Ares Class?

So Far... this is what I got:

Offensive: 39
Defensive: 70
System: 27

- 3x Type XIV-MB Phasers (Deals Quadruple damage to stations and Battleships)
- Subspace Cloak (Cloaks using a subspace feild, makes the ship undetectable by tachyon scans)
- Metaphasic Regeneration Feild (Regenerates shields and hull)
- Passive Warp Feild (Passive: Increases ship speed by 50%)
- Perfected Targeting AI (Passive: Allows the vessel to attack up to 5 targets)

Any ideas on this? Comments? I am kinda stuck on where if I should give it another special ability, or just keep it the same.

lol Quadruple damage

I like the version from legacy.

'Equipped with pulse-firing torpedo launchers, type XII phasers, and thick ablative hull armor,'

it had pulse phasers(blue) quantum torpedoes, , and type 12 phasers (also blue)

it was also very fast

All that with an estimated offensive value of 39? Nah I hate the thing personally. Especially the cloak. And it allready is poised to be a god ship so wth give it 19 specials while ur at it. But things I would change would be...

2 type XIV phasers.
1 Omnidirectional high yeild pulse cannon capable of targeting up to 5 targets.
Redundant sheilding.(which would result in the higher defensive value.)

Upon rankups as well as see offensive and defensive and sytem values raise I would increase fire rate of the pulse cannon to a maxium of 225%
Double gold bar rank could be granted regenerative sheilding which would greatly enhance sheild regeneration.
A passive ability would be increase hit chance on all targets for the pulse cannon

Veteran could gain an addition passive of 35% speed increase as I would put the vessel fairly fast to begin with

Ok so that not to much different than your Idea gamer......ehh whatever :D

You forgot the upgraded Photonic Cannon ---->  the TEMPORAL Photonic Cannon.

Yes, not only does it kill your enemy's grandfather, it kills your enemy's grandmother too!

Paradox averted.

Gamer, may I politely ask what your urge is to suggest these Fed ships which are GROSSLY overfit with weapons and abilities?

I really don't mean to be rude by saying that, but when you constantly push for these massive ships armed to the teeth and then ask for feedback ... what's a fella to do?  What I really want to tell you is that if this ship were to be in FO in the capacity you seem to want, I'd stop playing.

While we're in the business of giving the Fed's ships that can annihilate fleets all by themselves, let's give it the Corbomite Reflector from Vanilla A1.  Remember that?  Sovvie turns it on and ONLY pulse weapons can hurt it.  Everything else gets REFLECTED BACK on the attacker.  Phasers and torpedoes?  HA!

i vote for a 'single giant button' as a special for this ship

and if it works all fed ships should have one

Let's give it a Flux-Capacitor too.  Just in case it gets rammed by a squadron of Bugs (that somehow it's millions of multi-target phasers didn't kill) it can run away at 88 miles per hour (that's 141.622272 kph for you Europeans) and go back in time to stop it's own mother from ever letting it go to the high-school dance with those Bugs, where it got knocked up and spent the rest of it's life taking care of it's insect brood.

Or we could just ... maybe give it abilities and weapons that FIT into the game in a rational and reasonable manner.

Yes Gamer, please don't take this the wrong way.

But before you create a post, would you possibly think of the circumstances of what you are proposing? Think about it, this vessel would completely screw up te balance the devs have spent years trying to create. Hell I'd love to have the Galaxy X put in, but i accept that in terms of balancing, it's not going to hapen. I enjoy reading your ideas, I just wish you'd consider the consequences of implementing them.
Sorry to rant

This ship is probably a long way past 25th century Starfleet...

Actually, beam-type Phasers work perfectly when the Reflector's active and some shots go to a random direction instead of the attacker.

Nope, very true. Beam type weapons worked absolutely fine, and not all reflected torpedos hit the sender  :D

Nah, I PROMISE that beams were reflected too.  Nothing except pulse would hit it.  The beams being reflected weren't as obvious to see as the torps were, but the Corb was busted because you basically couldn't kill a fleet of Sovereigns with other battleships.  It had a line of code in the odf called:

reflectbeam = 1
reflecttorp = 1

Only pulse made it through, and the only stock ships with Pulse were destroyers and starbases.  A HUGE pain in the ass.
