Ok. I got a big project that I don't want to announce just yet. Though first thing's first. I need a tooltip translator/maker. Since I am basically having a lot of stuff going into this large thing (and no, its not about the warp-in project, its bigger).

Who here knows how to do the tooltipping for 3.12?

If you must know, this is going to be for an entire new race for FO. It has 24 different class starships (not including refits of some classes) so far. And it probably has about a dozen stations too (Not including research pods or upgraded versions). So you are talking about a load of work. I could really use some help. :sweatdrop:

Come on! The one chance you have to help retrying putting the cardies in and you sit out on it?

I had all the concepts and unique game play features worked out! I had the build tree laid out in plan and I was beginning the starship contests! Yes, I blew the secret. But if that is what it takes to get the needed help I am willing to forgo secrecy.

Seriously though, give it a bit longer :). You're posting mid week, when tons of people are at work and otherwise engaged in other things, other than the internet.

Is this new mod going to combine elements of everything you've worked on so far?

EDIT - I have no tooltip exp, but I do make maps. Maybe, if you need a themed map, I could make one specific to this mod but that depends on how busy I am/will be in the coming weeks.

Apoclaydon tried doing a similar thing. But the team pretty much collapsed. Basically I think it is an attempt to do what they were unable to do.

One thing I do know is that this is a separate project. I think he could be trying to take on many projects all at once hoping that he can get them out before too many code changes occur. One thing that would be a trouble is weapons, all but the beams are SOD based. Meaning an SOD editing person is needed in order to create 'modernized' weapon appearence.

Don't ask me to do it. I don't have an sod editor [rather a crappy hp editor].

well for weapons torpedoes, phasers and pulse phasers are sprites (the only aspect that is not is the sield/hull impact which are sods (think sim to explostions) and for tool tips get notepad++ its free and make it v easy to do. i'm still working on my concept a3 mod just been mega busy at wk recently

DSi's correct; weapons use sods. Phasers still have some sprite work, but Pulse and Torpedo weapons don't.

the unitorpedo still supports the usage of a single plain sprite, if you dont want to create a sod ^-^
