Fleet Ops asteroids in my mod

I have 2 installs of Armada 2, one with the latest version of Fleet Ops, and one with my own A2 Mod.
I really like the asteroid fields and planetoid fragments from Fleet Ops so I'm trying to put them in my non-fleet ops mod.
I currently have the asteroids in-game and placeable as a map object but there is a slight problem:

As you can see, the asteroids themselves are appearing but I am missing some texture flat and horizontal along the entire field. Does anyone know what texture this is, or how I can find out what one it is?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.  :D

Welcome to the forum.

Just copy every texture, I did. That way, you're guaranteed to find the right one.

they could be sprites which would require sprite entries

well, I thought about that, but if he didn't have the right sprites, it would crash.  Which SOD are you using?  I should be able to find out what you are missing from there.

nope certain things can operate without certain sprites just like just how fo shipcs can be added without adding the engine sprites

Thanks for all of the help people!  :thumbsup: I found the texture file by searching through every line in the .sod with notepad. It was called "empty", and it's just that... empty.

In my experience, the game crashes if you don't have the sprite reference for the engine glows, but maybe I"m wrong.

The dreaded empty.tga, it once foiled me with the Cubes before. I think the guide should mention that file; it keeps outsmarting us!

Any sprite entry used in a non-sprite file (like weapon effects) will crash if they are missing, that much I know for sure. Others like engine glows might just appear as featureless blocks.

Somewhere in the modding section saying "If using any FO sods in stock, copy this texture and have the last laugh!"

Or something like that.

Ok - I'll put it in the Tips and Tricks section for now. It seems there isn't realy enough information to justify a "Porting FO to Stock" page yet, so I think that will be ok, unless there are any objections :)

EDIT: I lied - it's now in the FAQ section here  :sweatdrop:
