Have the devs added any new options for coding weapons arcs yet or are we still on the stock code there?

I do not think there's any change to arcs, just the same as stock.

The units are different in FO I recall, but other than that it is identical - what you see in the weapon ODF section of the guide in this case is all you get
. You could always propose some ideas if you had another thought about weapon arcs

So still no broadsides and other realistic 360degree setings yet:(

You can do that using the current commands
. Just rotate the hardpoints and set your firingarc the way you want it.
What other 360 degree settings were you interested in?

Those should be possible by rotating the hardpoint to face in a certain direction then using the existing code.

There is a problem. The stock code doesn't consider HP rotation when seting 0 degrees for a weapon. 0 degrees is hard coded to always be forward centerline of the model. This means that you can't set a gun to only fire in a narrow direction unless it is to the front of the ship. Hardpoint rotation effects things like vents, damage sprites, and torpedo lunch direction. 0 degrees needs to be tied to the hardpoint and not the model. Then you can set realistic firing arcs. for all guns

so why not set it to 0.5 or something like that. I am only just now taking advantage of the arcs, but as far as I was aware they work based on the rotation of the of the hardpoint. I never give them a arc less then around 45[sup]o[/sup] though

Yes, you could always give them a very small value - approaching zero. I don't really think it's such a problem not to use zero, as zero is considered the same as 360 arc anyway.

Depending on the ship you are doing you can have some really odd arcs. Just look at the phaser arcs on a SDB klingon D7. There are some ship fro some universes you just cant do the guns right because of this. I can give other specific examples if you like.

I'm not sure what that example is...
I can think of one problem with the current arc setup, but I don't know if there is a way around it that I haven't thought of - if you want a weapon to have a narrow forward and behind arc (or side to side) on the same hardpoint, you can't do it. However, Star Trek weapon system shave never done that anyway... so it would only be necessary for innovative or non-ST stuff.

Yeah, as soon as Majestic gets the time to help me with my hardpointing quest hopefully I"ll find out whether or not they work properly. At this point the arcs seem to work if the hardpoints were turned properly, but they are not on my model, so I can't say if they work right just yet. I assume they do though, because they have worked in the past.

sorry I ment SFB.
Yea stuff like that. Anything other then 360 or narrowing to the front don't work. So far I have alway managed to work around it but it has ment messing up some nice gun batteries over the years >:(
