Federation Rhienn Class

Ok I've been gone for a while, and thus have not updated some of my posts. here i a continuation of one of my earlier posts. here is a concept for a ship of the sovereign class lineage. but its about the size of a norway class.

it is a multipurpose variable equipment cruiser.
has 1 phaser array
and 2 photon launchers
akira class shield strength
fast and manuverable
it is the federation version of the rhienn
(this is info for the game)

In FO that's roughly the Nova.

The drawing reminds me of the sovereign.

ah, no that is not the intention of this ship. it will have several pod that will allow it to either, have more torp launchers, better long range sensors, or a special weapon. the special weapon i haven't decided on exactly what it would do. and yes this ship is supposed to be a member of the sovereign class family.

Nice drawing. Only modeling problem I see is the nacelle struts. Are they sweeping to the side?

I like that idea. It shows that the Federation can adapt to some situations with a newer ship. It sounds like a good counter to the Rhienn.

For the special weapon, I'd suggest a sensor distorter or a device that makes a ship immune for a few seconds by providing shield energy from your ships warp core. Kind of like going to the enemy.

You have a really cool idea, and your sketch is awesome. It reminds me a little bit of the Excalibur ships, but your seems way less overpowered. It's called the Malestrome-class? I was just wondering why it says Rhienn-class in the title.

He meant it as a function rather than a name.

i wish i was a good modeler too. i just did this as a suggestion. I'm not a 3d artist only a concept artist.

I'd make a comment about there not being any punishment for trying but I'd probably stop immediately after drawing the first line anyway.

There are some pictures lurking on the Internet, someone made a plastic kitbash, just like this ship a few years ago. It's really an awesome work, I would like to see it ingame, but I would prefer it to be a cruiser rather than a destroyer.
