Hi everybody!

I added few weapons to the ship and i'm not quite sure if they all work
For example, replacing "rom_cloak" with "rom_cloak_supreme" worked as it should on Warbird but installing Norexean's "passive_triplecore" weapon to Warbird didn't seem to work (take that with a grain of salt because i tested it with a stopwatch). Adding "passive_blackops2" didn't work for sure.

Question is - are passive weapons just a nice description of ship characteristics or do they really change ship's
properties?

Passives alter the actual properties, so they require a lot more than just adding the passive to the weapon list, you need to edit any odf file that would be effected. For example; if a ship has a passive that causes extra damage to long-range ships, the weapons of that ship would need the damage in the weapon odfs.

some odfs are weapons (like the cloaks) some are just names (like passives).

take tactical weapons arrays on a galaxy for example, deals more damage to long range. adding the weapon to a ship doesnt add the damage. to get that you find the ship's weapons ordnance files (for the galaxy it will be the galaxy phasers and torps ordnance files) and add the damage there. the ordnance file lists how much damage each weapon deals to enemies. so adding damage for those enemies that are long range is how its done.
