I Know it can be done in the trek universe!

I don't think that it's in the game right now though, and I don't know if it can be programed into the game or not.

Yeah, I asked cause i think I've been playing to much FO.

I dreamed that you could place units like shield generators and extend shields around your structures and ships in a 360 degree radius. The further you extend from the generator, the less effective it is.

The 'Shield Recharge' is the closest we will ever get to that, I think...

Well, if you want it done, ask the creators of Armada for the source code stuff so you can put it in yourself...
