i was just wondering with 3.0.5 and 3.0.6 the sod used whilst building a the borg ship always blows up once completed, is there anyway it could just say disappear...

i know in 3.0.6 you use a new classlabel called buildyard... but in 3.0.5 it was just a replaceweapon yet still blew up?

i am not quite sure what you want. the replaceweapon command for having chunks fly around is replacementFractionSOD

the thing you use to build them he just wants it to disappear rather than being destroyed.

oh, i see. there is no way to disable the chunk-blow up on the buildyard, that is hardcoded

What about having it replace itself with an invisible SOD the moment building has finnished?
After it's invisible it can blow up and there will be no fragments.

To be honest though I'm not that bothered about them blowing up though it does seem very unborgish to waste the materials.

I would have to disagree with you there, the way I see it is the structure which eventually becomes the ship is actually a part of the insides of ship... it's backbone, skeleton or whatever, and since the ship is built by transporters and nanites and stuff, there wouldn't be any scaffolding or left over parts to 'explode' or break off as the ship is completed.  That's my opinion anyway.

Yah, that is cool too.  I actualy like both Ideas.  I wonder if you could do both, or have it act differentially with different ships.

actually i dont want it for the borg  ^-^

i speak to Optec a while back and he said it is something you could add pretty easily?

as "buildyard" is your own classlabel surely its quite customisable...

i still want it to be produced from the build yard, i just dont want the scaffolding sod to blow up but just vanish...

yea, we *could* do it. what i wanted to say is, that we have hardcoded that and there is no odf command to disable the break-up :)

next version (3.0.8) will add a new odf command for the buildyard label that allows changing the effect:

vanishEffect = 0

0 for fragmentation effect
1 for disassemble effect
2 for nothing
