Creating a research pod

I've run into an interesting problem, can someone help me implement the solution?

In Tryptic's Mod, I want to make it so that getting chassis level research increases your warpin limit. However I have found that if you simply add the research to the warpin limit file, the result is that it grants the extra slots as soon as you start researching the chassis level instead of when it finishes.

I believe the answer is to have the chassis research spawn another pod when it completes, and have that pod raise the warpin cap, but I'm unsure of how to do this. Can anybody help me?

You can have a pod spawn another game object by an auto replaceweapon which replaces once. Your pod will need weapon hard points and a weapon subsystem

Okay, thanks. Is it possible to link a pod and have it be destroyed with the creator? For example a buildablE ship that spawns a pod to increase the warpin limit or globally increase shield hitpoints, and if the ship is destroyed the pod goes away as well?

Not cleanly, no.

You might try fiddling with count constructions and similar fleet cap commands, assuming you are using negative fleet cap. That might fix your extra slots before construction complete issue. I don't recall off the top of my head as it's been quite some time since I've used that system.
