Change Armada 2 Classic file naming scheme

Armada 2 SOD and ODF files are a horrid mess in the file name department. Does anyone know what it would take to be able to rename all the SODs and ODFs to conform to Fleet Ops naming conventions and still have the Armada 2 Classic mod work?

Eventually I'd like to redo the texture file names as well, but that is something for another day.

You'd have to rename all the odfs and sods, change the build button and wireframe entries, rewrite the entire techtree, rewrite all ship and station buildlists, rewrite all ships and station weapon lists, rewrite the 8472 ship evolution, and rewrite any weapons that have damage or hit chance vary by ship.

Ouch...Nevermind... I guess I'll just leave that to someone who isn't about to finally start college at age 33. No way would I have time for a project like that. Makes me wish for something like SFC Orion Pirates. All you had to do in that was edit some CSV text files in a spreadsheet...

It is massively easier in terms of logistics to create new content than it is to rework something that already exists. The worst part about renaming and restructuring the files in a mod, is that at the end of a long and error-prone process, the end product feels no different from when you started.

I know from experience :P

Almost forgot, if you're redoing the nebulae and other map objects then the maps also have to be redone and the campaign maps have to be redone either way.
