Can't edit ODF files

HEy guys, long time no type.

Well fairly serious problem. I recently upgraded my comuter to dual core Packard bell. FO is amazing on it. but when i want to edit stuff in the odf files it won't let me save my work. i've gone to properties and changed it from read only but it still won't work......I NEED HELP

Step 1: Associate odf files with wordpad or notepad (notepad preferably because of the fact it doesn't mess with formatting).

Step 2: Double click the file

Step 3: MAKE SURE that word wrap is not on because this can sometimes cause problems with character placement.

Step 4: Begin editting... please edit carefully and make sure there is no misspellings in your typing because these files are sensitive to spellings especially in classifications and file reference.

Save your work to your desktop and cut and paste over top of the one you want to change. short of this you might have to load up administrater privledges, Not with just confirming, you will have to setup a 2nd load up for logging onto your computer, this will end any problems when trying to save. ill report if i find the help site that brought me step by step.

Enable the (Hidden) Administrator Account on Windows 7 or Vista :: the How-To Geek
that link should explain how to make an admin account for vista/windows 7, in that account it will allow you to save without any fuss.
