Buildbuttons not working in 3.1.1

I seem to be having issues with buildbuttons showing up for imported ships in 3.1.1. In 3.07 I never had this issue at all and buildbuttons would show up just fine. Is there something new in 3.1.1 that I have to do in addition to editing the gui_global file to get build buttons to show up? Or am I just doing something wrong in gui_global.spr? Here's my lines in the gui_global.spr file:

looks like you're missing the # 1 1 part, as in row 1 column 1 ect.

that is why they wouldn't show up for me

it would go after the entrie, like this:

b_vra_hqZ.odf      vrabuildbuttons01  0  0  96  96    #    1    1

I tried adding that in and the buildbuttons still wont show up. I'm not sure if adding that at the end has any effect, since '#' is used and that causes text after it to be ignored.
I've changed @tmaterial to additive and alpha and still nothing seems to work. I've double checked all the names of the ships and they are spelled right. My textures have alphas too so I'm sure they are just not showing up transparent. I even tried using federation buildbuttons and they won't show up so I am really confused on what might not be working.


EDIT: I figured out the problem, the buildbutton names have to be named after the SOD rather then the odf file name.

well maybe you need to never mind you got it.  I just noticed that one of the entries is b_vra_hqZ.odf

Hehe yeah that .odf threw things off... I always thought that build button names are linked to the ship's odf file but apparently they are linked to their SOD files instead. A rather odd approach but at least it works. Thanks for the help.  :thumbsup:

Actually the basename code says that "this is the name to use for reference (except in other odfs) and Sod reference"

Can someone help me... I can't get either the System BG or the Build botton for my ship to work.

The SOD name is fed_intrepidA

I can post the sprite files if you like. I dunno why it won't work! If I had a button template I could easily put them in a button bg but I don't have one. So basically it is just the Icon and the obj.

thats because if you have several ships  the same with the same base odf, they can all have sprites.  it really helps when i have modules that al look the same, i still only need one sprite entrie.

well all i can say is that all_interface_buildbuttons10 doesn't exist, so unless you created that file your self, it could be a typo

Edit:  never mind.  that system background tga has no pic.  that could be a problem
