Sounds like space battles in Star Wars: Empire at War. It was a favorite tactic of the Empire to buy a cheap fighter that could reveal fog of war anywhere on the map and then hyperspace in a massive fleet (other factions had to actually send ships to reveal fog of war so their massive fleets could be stopped from reaching ur base.) Ships coming in anywhere is just terrible for balancing an RTS (which is why Armada II was ruined by warp and one reason warpins are unbalanced.)

Hehe, fortunately the warp in for the Sov is limited to a radius around the station (the radius can be extended via upgrades naturally), so unless you have said station all over the map players won't have the ability to warp in anywhere.

See, I don't think warp ins ruined A2. First of all, if you were dumb enough to warp in on top of a station, you got your fleet blasted out of space because warp hurts shield strength. Secondly, it also screwed up sensor range, so unless you had already scouted an area, it wasn't a good idea to use warp.

you could warp in, fire off a salvo, then warp out, all following torps wouldnt hit.

it required no skill and was annoying as hell.
