Hi
I got a problem with ScaleSOD command in odfs, when I change the size of a ship, Akira for example, it makes my Intrepid smaller... Same thing with monsoon and galaxy and many others.. it seems to be random.
Someone can explain that ?
(Sorry for my english)

What numbers are you using? FO defaults at 1.0 (any ship without code in does) and any smaller number would make the ship smaller.
0.75 would be 75% the default, 0.5 would be 50%, ect. Increasing the number would also make it bigger: 2.0 would be 200%.

Yep, that's the way i use it. Change size of a ship is not a problem, the strange thing is the way that a ship's scale seems to be connected to an other... :/

No, it is rather decieving, it just sizes up the one ship and makes all the others look smaller. It doesn't make them smaller.

it is really a rather limited command (try it on the borg) but when its working right it should make a ship look larger in comparison to the rest of the ships.

Lol I know that, make a ship bigger than an other is the goal, but I swear that there is a problem, some ships become huge, so I change its ScaleSOD value, but when I restart the game, an other ship has changed too but not others, etc... I'll go crazy!
Thank you anyway

Hm, the scalesod is not supported officially by the FO team since they never use it - however Redmanmark86 has succesfully used it on all FO units, including Borg vessels (he made a Wolf 359 style Cube I recall), so you might try to get in contact with him through Instant Messenger

Yeah, I have tried to use it. I successfully use it it my mod, however, it does seem to have some issues sometimes.
Also. Remember that there can be up to 12 odf's for any one ship,
so you may need to make sure you are modifying the right odf with the right name.

It is true that ScaleSOD command can produce weird results sometimes. But unfortunately this error was already in the stock game, so I don't think FO team could do anything with it...

yep we dont look much after the scale sod functions, as we dont use them
its best to scale your sods in your modeling tool, rather then using odf functions

Hello
if you go into the 'RTS_CFGh' file in the fleet ops directory and look for the line:
// What's the maximum strategic view scale factor?
float cfgMAX_STRATEGIC_VIEW_OBJECT_SCALE = 1.75; // Grow by at most 75%
change it so it's now:
// What's the maximum strategic view scale factor?
float cfgMAX_STRATEGIC_VIEW_OBJECT_SCALE = 1.00; // Grow by at most 75%
that should stop the game making its own slight adjustments, so now you can have really small ships/shuttles.
