Adding Planets back in

I noticed there isn't a section in the modding guide you have up. I know FleetOps does not want to add planets back into the game, but I do. Does anyone know how I could add them back in? Could this be added to the modding Fleet Ops guide.
I know you need to tweak the planets ODF files, utilize the NORACE faction, and add colonies and orbital stations back in. I know that is a tall order, for now though, Just how can i add planets back into the game without having them be background objects?

Aye, this is a popular request for modding stuff
. Unfortunately, a section can only be added to the guide if someone writes one, and I do not know how to do it myself.

i tried to add them back in by simplying comparing the original ODF files from normal armada to the fleet ops ones. I changed the planets info but that didn't work. As long as they are background objects, i'm not sure how to do it. I wonder if you just made them like derelict ships...waiting to be boarded?

lol if you make them derelict you will see ferangi coming and towing planet out of the map

classlabel = "planet" and "planet = 1" should do it. Although the mesh of the planet will now be a sphere (dumping any custom meshes) and will want a texture on it.

well it is easy to do and im currently doing a quick mini mod that will add a class M planet, an orbital and a colony ship

I can add planets when I make maps. Is there a problem with the planets when making maps?
Someone let me know if there is.
I to, want to see planets. More types of them. Also when adding a sun, the sun should come with it's own set of lighting effects (adjustable, of course). One other thing I would love to see. Lets have moons able to slowly orbit a planet (I mean slowly)! I think that would be really cool! Harder to protect your freighters! Changes the distance to the refinery. Makes the game a little more challenging. What do you guys think?

True. I m od the heck out of Fleet Ops. I use the modding guide alot and it has proven very helpful. Thats why I was so surprised no info on planets was in it. I want to add planets back for the strategic value...capture a planet, put artillery on it. Make the goal of the mission to maintain control of the planet.

FO does as evident in my import mod just seams bit difficult to readd into fo stock
