I've got a request for the people here who release a ton of very nice ships; could you also release consolidated packs of at the very least your own released ships (but even better, packs of ships from a few different authors) to make installation easier?
I hate having to go through pages and pages of text files and wondering if I'm even changing the right parts just so I can have all of these great releases; most of you guys seem to include all of your installed ships on the text files you include with individual releases anyways, could you just release them as packs? It would really be easier to go through and remove any ships that I don't want from a consolidated ship pack than it would be to pick out the ones I do want and install them separately.
I understand hosting them here wouldn't be feasible, but I'm certainly willing to deal with something like filefront or even emails to make the installation that much easier.
Mostly asking this because I cleanly reinstalled FO just because it was getting so cluttered with mods that weren't even working for me.
Something else that would make things easier and would also be easier to do might be if all (or most of) the ship modders could work together and keep one set of ODF files with all the added ships so you would never need to worry about overwriting your old ships, then with new ship releases just release the SODs, textures, and new ODFs (the ones pertaining to just that ship that wouldn't be overwriting anything).
Maybe I've been installing the hard way and there's an easier way? But it doesn't seem like it. I'd be happy to help with this, I have a rudimentary knowledge of the code used in the ODFs because I was experimenting with making things warpins, so I could do some of the more time consuming parts.

I know what you mean about you not being able to get some ships to play nice with others, and the joy of multiple changes on all of the files to trying to get a ship to work. I had the same problem at the AFC site . There the site had lots of ships I liked, but a lot of them did not mesh with others at all or were buggy at best. So I stopped getting mods from there and fell in love with the Fleet Ops site. Because 99.99% of the time the mods and ships would be compatable with others on the site. I agree that It would be nice it all the new ships when and If added were put in "Approved ship Packs" for release on the site .

You know, I've been meaning to do something like that. The only problem is the file post size limit. If I ever get enough time, I will see what I can do.
