start location

Hi i'm quite new at map edditing and i'm sure that this is verry easy for someone who is experienced but
n°1 I can't make start locations , I try everything but when I try the map I always end up in the middle.
n°2 when I change a map I can't select my start location
I would really appreciate any help you can give me

yes, all I know comes from the guide but it doesn't tell me the things I stated before

It would help to know exactly what you are doing - there is no other way of doing what you ask than what is written in the guide here
