Hello everyone,

here I am... again.

Like the topic says, I have some trouble with making an new map.
It should be an 8-player map and I want Team 0 - and maybe the ferengi as an agressive part of that map.
What I mean is, that I added klingon heavy weapon platform to the map, belonging to Team 0. My Problem, they don't fire on anything after saving and reloading the map.
Nothing... and I can't attack them, too.  :pinch:

I'm using the lastest version of Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operationen (3.1.5.)

Hallo zusammen,

:pinch:

Ich verwende die aktuelle Version von Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations (3.1.5)

Team 0 is always neutral.  Anything you put on that team will not fire at you.  You should be able to fire at it though but your units will not fire at anything on team 0.

I just noticed that...
What can I do about that?

You can use MMM to change the relations for team 0 to neutral enemy.

Since that's a neutral team, they're not part of the game. You'd have to put them in one of the 8 playable slots in a game with less than 8 players, like team 8 in a 7 player map.

Force-fire allows you to shoot it.

Well, if I put them into one of the playable slots I wont be able to create an 8-Player map...

Hrm... there should be a 9th team especialy for things like that.

Ok, so I see - I can't realize that idea. to bad...

indeed, thats a limitation. anything put on team 0 will behave like the old ferengi scavengers, not hostile. you can force fire on them. you CANT capture them, any crew you beam over will just become their's

The devs do have plans for NPC races down the road. I theorize that they will just use player slots, but they might make it so that NPC races do not do that and thus can be on teams beyond 0 - 8. As far as units on team 0 attacking players I believe it's possible to do that by adding a command to the unit in question's odf.... that command has mysteriously vanished from the Guide though...  :ermm:

If you open the unit setting in map editor (double-clicking on it), it has a slot under Team called Percieved Team. Set that to something other than 0 and your units will treat it as a valid enemy, don't think it attacks you though.

For now, I'd just settle for NPC being put on non-8 player maps.
