go into the map editor zoom in to maximum, move to the upper left or right corner of the map, take a screenshot(ctrl + s or p or something like that), separate the minimap from the screenshot, resize it to the resolution the other previews have and finally save it as .bmp with the same filename to the bzn-folder.

thats how i do it

the official way it works is by setting the screen resolution to 800x600x16 and then save the map. the preview is being saved by armada itself then, though the screenshot method is not bad either.

I've tried setting the resolution to 800X600x16 and saving.  It does save a .bmp image, but it's just a black screen, both in the game setup screen and in ms paint.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. :(

i think you first have to set the resolution and afterwards open the map for editing. setting the resolution with the escape key and then saving may not work. i haven't tried it for a while btw. maybe it doesn't work at all

Yeah, all I get is a big, black monolith for a bitmap.  It either doesn't work or I'm doing something wrong, probably the latter.  I'll just take a screenshot and use the minimap image for now.  Thanks, DC. ^-^

you have to save it via ctrl + s, the menu button shouldn't create a preview. However its a bit bugged, i would recommend taking a screenshot and using paint or the tool of your choice to make a preview image. take a look at the existing once for the correct image size and format ^-^

Happy maping!
