Hey guys, I have read the tuturials and threads regarding map making/editing and cant seem to resolve these two problems. Please help if you can.

1. Starting points - I place them and name them camera_1, 2 and so on. I save the map and load up the game. The starting points are there just fine but I am not able to assign them to myself or any AI's. When I launch the game the computer will ramdomly assign them tho.

2. When I place a planet, save the map and launch the game there is no planet. It's like it didnt save it. Moons and other space bodies seem to save ok but planets dont.

Please tell me what I am forgeting or doing wrong.

ok

#1 when you start a game theres an option, random starting postions, or fixed postions etc, set it to fixed and then chose where you want it, this should work.

#2 i have no idea, just make sure you are not renaming them or setting them to teams and it should "should" be fine, theres no need to set them to teams etc as they can not be attacked or mined or do anything (yet)

Thanks for the reply Eufnoc.

I do have option set to fixed positions. Thats why I cant understand why it wont let me assign a starting position to each player. As for the planets, I'm not doing anything but placing them and saving the map. I find it weird that it's only the planets that wont stay put.
Also I noticed that none of the other maps in FO has planets in them. Only moons and such. Could this have something to do with my problem ?

For reference: How did you solve the issue with the disappearing planets? I seem to havethe same issue with 3 Class M planets and an entire star. I place them in the editor and then they do not persist when I load up instant action. Curiously my Class B planet remained in the game for instant action.

EDIT: I resolved the issue. It turns out that they disappeared because the y-axis value was changed. I returned them all to zero and they all showed up in instant action.
