Map Units

Sorry if this has been posted before but I've only just started playing fleet ops with a few friends after trying to get back into armada and realising the game is finished.
So far its been good but I'm looking to get back into map designing like in the original armada but is it possible to make maps with map units like in A1?
There was countless great maps where people were given certain units (like the everyone vs borg cube, or santa maps) or 2v1 style bases because you could turn map units on to stop the game starting everyone with the station+cons ships. Is this possible at all in fleet ops?

hey mate, you can but you need to set the map type to assault i believe.

that way you can choose each players starting units and it overrides the default starting units.

load the map editor and i believe you press ctrl+r and then choose the map type from there

also check out the fleetops guide as that will tell you more about what you can do in the map editor
