I seem to be having much luck with the map dimensions.  whatever i try to set them to, it jumps back to the default 6400x6400.

it will let me change the numbers, then it says we have to reload the map, but when i do, the dimensions are back at default and the map does not change size.

what am i doing wrong, lol.

edit:  Not much luck, sorry

It's a little difficult to understand what exactly is going wrong without detailed information :)

Are you reloading the map without saving?

Yes, I am saving.

But simply.  I hit ctrl+r and get into the settings, then to the enviroment tab, then i manually change the 6400 (both of them) to 20000.  then i click OK.  it says that the map dimensions have changed and the map needs to be reloaded to see any changes.  I click save and reload and Waa-Laa.  still sitting at 6400x6400.  go back into ctrl+r and they have not changed and the map has not increased.

everything else seems to work just fine except that.  even with a uninstall, clear, and reinstall.  same thing, lol.

thank you for even reading this.

That is indeed peculiar :D.  I haven't done any map editing this patch so I'll try when I get home.

Are you on vista/win7? Perhaps running Fleet Ops as an administrator? :)

I think I might know what's going on.

The file is probably marked as Read-Only. Probably because its in the bzn folder which is probably marked Read-Only.

Either try saving it somewhere else or make the file write-able.

I think I've got it. After a little bit of fussing I've determined that it's because the "Program Files" directory is secured by UAC. If you dive into your install directory, usually "C:Program FilesActivisionStar Trek Armada II Fleet Operations" on 32-bit and "C:Program Files (x86)ActivisionStar Trek Armada II Fleet Operations" on 64-bit, right click FleetOps.exe and select "Run as administrator" you shouldn't have any more problems.

Also for the Devs, it looks like if you run FO normally (not as an Admin) and try to save to a location other than the bzn folder it crashes. I've attached the crash log. It looks like it crashes because it's trying to create the .png image for the map in the bzn folder but can't because of security restrictions.
