I feel dumb but I need a lil help.
Do you have a question on map editing, how use the map manager or want to make your new map public? Post here.

Ok so Im playing around editing a map and then I go to play it and its so dark....
My question is how does the directional light work. I place it down and notice that if I right click it I can rotate it in any direction. Also do I just need one light for a map to brighten the entire map? also how do I know which way the light is pointing?
Thanks in advance for any help.
P.S. what does the "unity" station do besides help erase footprints?

The directional light, as you may have guessed, controls all of the lighting for that map. The directional light is represented in the editor by a small blue light-like thingy with an arrow pointing out of where the light would come out. The direction of the light model (rotate it with the right mouse button) controls the direction of the light being cast, and im pretty sure that if you double click on it you get a color selector. Usually 1 light will work but most FO mapss seem to have 3 lights/ Start out with 1 then add more as you get more skilled at placing, rotating, and coloring lights.
The unity station is supposed to be an NPC (non player character) but those arent working well right now so maybe you'll see it in a future version of fleetops.
If you want, you can ask me any questions you have in my Map Editing Tips thread, it also has lots of other tips on how to make good maps.

The Unity station can be used as a repair dock (repairs ships like a shipyard). Useful or not, i don't know.
