How can you make a map with bases and ships already on it?

I was just curious.  I thought about making some maps to test my skill against the AI or to start ppl out evenly built but I have yet to get this feature to work.  Anyone have any advice?

I'm not sure you can with the standard game type (unless they are AI). I think one or two of the other game modes are needed, but only the standard one works in FO.

There is the standard game type, locked teams and you lose when you are wiped out. In stock A2, there was also assault, collect latinum and defend the planet as available gamemodes.

Ok, gotcha....in the game-type mode.  I'll try that when I get home from work tonight.

You should look at the yard, or mini fleet wars on a2 files.[they are called something like that]  I never got them to work but they might help you.
