Help with making the bmp image of a map

Ive made a new map but I am having trouble making the preview image. What programs do you guys use to crop the image into a 160x160 image? Im using paint and its impossible to get the image perfectly on 160x160. I took a screenshot and opened the screenshot in paint, cropped the image but the dimentions are at 204x206. I tried setting the attributes to 160x160 but half of the image is lost. Any ideas?

I use GIMP and zoom waaaaaaay in so that i can see the exact border of the minimap.

In paint use Stretch/Skew till you get it close enough.

The stretch and skew 'Steve Angelis' mentioned is Ctrl+W, it allows you to reduce size to a percentage of the current one; set a dimention (e.g. height) to 75 and it will reduce it to 75% of the current height. It works for both dimentions.

Adobe! If you use Adobe it adjusts all the pixel proportionally giving you the best quality in a small size.
