Building ships

Hi,

I'm from the Netherlands so I'm sorry for my English....

I have a question, I don't understand why you can't build all ships.
If you are playing a game I can't build all ships. I have never been able to build a Gallaxy Class.

Also when I try to build a map I can't select Sovereign Class...

Does somebody now the awnser?

You need to build some stations or practise some research before you are able to build all ships, especially the battleships.

Welcome to the forums! 

As Dr. Wayne already said, some ships are only available after research. Some aren't buildable at all like the Galaxy. To get a Galaxy-class ship you need to build the station called "Starfleet Command" and some luck. By warping in ships with that station you get random fleets of three vessels. Sometimes you get a Galaxy, sometimes you don't
