Y'know those boxes in the setup menu where you choose your start location? On the maps I've made, all I get is one box in the middle, no matter how many players the map has or where the locations are.

ok, i see,

- Go to your BZN Directory in your Fleetops Directory
- Open the txt file of your map (it has the same name as the map)
- Scroll to the End of the File
- Check the Starting Points, right is : // Path: "Camera_X" (1 points)
every Startpoint has to look like this (with the corret numbers in corret order)

Also, what's the best way to get a btmp. of the minimap?

p.s. I tried what you said on my maps, but it didn't seem to work.

i.e. I changed
 &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; // Path: "Camera_1" (2 points)
 &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; // Path: "Camera_2" (2 points)
 &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; // Path: "Camera_3" (2 points)
to:
 &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; // Path: "Camera_1" (1 points)
 &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; // Path: "Camera_2" (2 points)
 &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; // Path: "Camera_3" (3 points)

I also tried setting them all to 1, but that didn't seem to work, either...

oh, sorry , you miss understood me

Correct it has to look like that, (in the log)

// Path: "Camera_1" (1 points)
// Path: "Camera_2" (1 points)
// Path: "Camera_3" (1 points)
// Path: "Camera_4" (1 points)

to get this result, you must open your map in the editor an check every starting point on your map.

Hover over one startingpoint, click on it with your left mousebutton (and hold) and drag it around, if you see 2 point ( one is moving with your mouse and the other is remaing on its place), delet one of it

Ahhhh... that makes sense... now about the minimap... ;)

I tried what you said, and eliminated the double-path. It all looks right in the log, but it still won't work... :(

hmm, strange

upload your map(only the bzn file), and will take a look on it

Dang... I may sound stupid, but, how do I upload it again? Is it the file attachment thing? Because if it is, my map is about 300k to big...

Could I have a link?

by far the easiest way to get round this problem is to.....

1) take an existing 8 player map and delete EVERYTHING except the start locations....
2) save the map as "template"
3) exit the map editor.

now you have a large map with all the spawns you need :)

info) when saving your alterations to "template" dont save it over the origional save it under a different filename, this way when you come to make a new map you dont have to make another "template"

as far as minimaps are conserned you need to be at 800x600 rez for the game to take a screenshot of it.

hmmmm... I'll consider that...
Now, could I have a link to "something like dropload or something"...?

---EDIT----

Forget that, I went out and found it myself. It's waiting on dropload.

I think I found how to fix that, if you use the control-r command, go to the locations area and it should show the locations of all the players, if not just switch from player 1 to 2 to 3 so on and it should show the boxes after a little tinkering and you will be able to start at the locations, I don't know how to switch locations between player 1 and 4 and such.  And when I try to select a spot it just stays gray...but hey, something else to mess with.  Good Luck! :thumbsup:  I also know this post is 3 years old... :whistling:
