A Borg request

Do you have a question on map editing, how use the map manager or want to make your new map public? Post here.

I have a request for the people that are talented with the mapmaking tool; a "Borg survival" map, of sorts.

Basically, seeing how long a player (or group of players) can hold off nonstop waves of Borg ships.  The Borg ships would be computer controlled, but they wouldn't be a player slot; they'd be map spawned in set groups, without resources or structures or anything.

Ideally, it would be a fairly long map, with the players at one end and the borg ships spawning at the other, leaving it up to the players then to see how close to the Borg end they go to get more resources.  If possible, the players shouldn't be able to go entirely to the Borg spawnpoint.  Maybe the players could be in the center of the map and have Borg coming from many different spawn areas.

I've personally always liked the Borg as a huge unplayable evil entity that everyone has to band together to defend against, and this map would certainly feel like that.

How many (if any) choke points, nebulae, and moons there are and organization and composition of the waves I'll leave up to the mapper, because they know what's best.

The problem is the AI doesnt understand how to function if they dont have any stations to build ships. Maybe in a future patch. However this could be accomplished by using a human player instead of an AI player.

Could that be gotten around by just having the stations there, but not using them?

no, this is still an issue (so iv seen). When the AI's 1st starbase is destroyed it no longer builds stations, and only builds small groups of ships.

Unless they have a functioning starbase the AI doesnt work.

you could just do a Comp stomp with say three players vs 3 HARD borg AI.
