My second map - Booby Trap

Heres my second map - Booby Trap - 1v1. Named After TNG episode.
Feedback welcome... I didnt come across any pathing issues but if you do let me know.

Hey now I LIKE this one :D!!!

    May I make a suggestion that is TOTALLY selfish and based on what I do?  :D  I would separate the expansion moons pairs a bit in order to allow easier harassment and avoid turretting up to protect everything at once :).

  Other than that, I can see this being a map that people play A LOT :thumbsup:.  Well done!

By seperate do you mean:

Space the pairs further apart at each expansion

or

Have one type of moon at each expansion forcing expansion in multiple locations?

I know what ya mean about turreting up, theres lots of tight locations that are easily defended.

Again, this is just how BOGGZ would do it, so don't think I'm saying that it's no good unless you do it my way :).


   I meant that since each expansion has a pair about equidistant from each other, try spacing the expansion moons out a bit so that actually holding them means you won't be able to put up 1 turret to guard both.  That way you will have to actually use some of your ships to guard a mining area if you are in need of resources.

  Just my 2 cents.  I would play it regardless :).

  EDIT:  Also in the future your threads with actual MAPS in them should go in the sub-forum "Map Exchange" :thumbsup:

yeah just break them up a bit :). If the moons are bunched in pairs then many players would probably just build one mother of a base, safe in the knowledge that they're protecting a nice stable income. Break them up a lot and it'll force players to spread themselves thin, for the resources they want, which in turn; encourages harassment.

Thanks Boggz and Phoenix. Ive made some minor changes fixed a pathing issue. The local expansions now only have one moon each. The large expansion has a pair. Heres updated version - and in the future Ill use the "Map Exchange" sub-forum.

I totally dig it.  Not too many resources, but just enough to get production swingin' :D.


   Great job, man!  I can't wait to see a replay-commentary on this map!

  EDIT:  Btw, I'd edit your first post and replace the uploads with the new one.  People sometimes don't bother scrolling down :).

Hahah I do too for the most part :lol:.  I'm just glad to see a new map-maker start with a "simple" map! :thumbsup:.  I think that you will see this map get a lot of play because people wont' feel that they need to "learn" it.
