3 player map around a massive icefield with a dark cold feel to it as i tried all i could for that feel. I altered the map from it's first form and doubled the moons. i am a little concerned by the moon placing for the lower half of the map, i hope it is not a problem. If it is, i can always release a small fix and move the rocks up a little.

Edit: picture and map moved here.

depending on how big it is you may be right that those two pairs of moons dont have enough space for mining.

is a lot of that blue stuff nebulae? if a lot of it is nebulae it will slow some people's computers down really bad. if it's only ice it will still slow old computers down, just not as much as nebulae.

otherwise its a nice map

Interesting... never played FO on the Triforce before.

1. dust clouds
2. on the inner 3 trails are small asteroids and the outside is big asteroids.
3. i cant be held accountable for someone elses computer, if they choose to improve their computer last... in the end that is the point.
4. i suspected that and said so, i tested it, and made sure there is room for mining stations and turrets.
5. i made sure that close combat is a must and made sure there is no place to bottleneck, made sure the size is respectable for 3 players to that end.

It actually will slow down anybody's computer, regardless of the specs. That's just how multiplayer is when handling a HUGE number of objects.  :pinch:

computers are expensive lol, im lucky fo doesnt require top spec. but some people love fo but just cant afford new comps, or its a family comp and not their place to change it. u should be wary of releasing maps for high spec as people may ignore them fearing poor performance. there are plenty of very fun maps which arent "busy" in that they arent full of dust clouds or nebulae.

EDIT: ninjad by dom, and @canny, i like your avatar. peter williams was a great baddie. i loved apophis.

i know of a few sites i can link if your looking for cheap parts that would upgrade your 500mhz rig to 2k mhz easy. all within 100-150 quid. you dont need to buy a computer. but even so i guess i will make the changes anyway and post the map on the upload feature that has come back.

sometimes there's only so much you can do. most computers made since about 2000 can probably be upgraded to a level where they can play online with most of the common maps. but a lot of people dont know how to replace a processor, most people dont even know how to change ram.

'a lot of people'? another question is how do you know?

it seems the comments are turning into a slagging match which i have no interest in. the map at that should be in the upload link.

Edit: i have edited out the dust clouds and as much asteroids without effecting the map.

Edit 2: removed map and picture to the first post.

No need to get so touchy mate  :sweatdrop:

Incidentally, putting it in the first post would probably be the best course of action, as most folks tend to skip map threads when they can't find it asap for some reason - quite frustrating, but you often have to tell people to scroll down

 surely the middle wheel on the mouse isnt that much work?

i may end up doing what phoenix has done, make a map pack and just shove them on one thread.

Quite a few people think that if it isn't on the first post, it means that the map has been removed, permanently.

Surely putting it on the first post isn't so much work if that gets you more people, no?

You could upload them to Phoenix's site, Astrometrics? Several people have their maps there.

You underestimate the power of the lazy.

i've met 'em, seen the blank looks on people's faces when they dont understand computers. if people were generally good at this sort of stuff we wouldnt have a need for so many computer repair people.

i apologise if you think im slagging you off, i argue a lot, but thats just me, its not personal, i hope i never adopt ad hominem arguments i will only ever argue on the points. i do stand by my point that being inclusive to as many people will mean more people play your map and you become a popular map maker.

your revised map should do a lot better

also i dont have a middle wheel, i dont even have a mouse i have a touchpad. and the manufacturer of the driver released buggy drivers for the scroll feature. :(

maps have been moved, hadnt realize it was such a touchy subject.
for now tyler, i will just create the maps for inspection of the players for feedback before thinking of posting to phoenix's high quality site.
