Hey... for borg to go against galaxy class and warpins the guide said that for regenerations scubes,
" Against battleships (such as some of the vessels in the Federation’s Warp-In units) this module must replace the Interception Module, as the Regeneration Module will allow the Scout Cube to do considerably more damage.  The Negh'var, Galaxy, S-2 Escort Cruiser, Norexan take increased damage from the Scout Cube."

So in order to go against 6 warpin vessles, and 2  monsoons, I built a massive 8 regen scubes to couter it. After facing the enemy, I think I lost all my vessels in like 10 seconds while the enemy lost only 2 ships....
my army... the scubes do nothin! has the guide lied to me?

Hmm, I don't know why the regen Scubes should do more damge to warp ins than the Interception Scube. However, I never build Intercept, only regen or EM. In my opinion they last longer and probably therefor do more damage over time, since the Intercept has to retreat soon and his pulse weapon does reduced damage to larger ships(such as Galaxy).
One thing though: All Scubes do increased damage to the Tactical weapons array vessels, as those get increased damage from short range ;). Still don't see the increase from Regen.

May be the Scoutcubes got outmicroed and targetted the Monsoons only while the warpins did their job on them.

hehe the game was against me and he did a very good job of microing his ships to fire on the vessels his ships would do the best against..... but they didnt cut it at all they died very fast and with only 3 kills :whistling:

also their were a few intrepids but only like 3 of them so not sure if they made a difference

intercept scubes do a large part of their damage with the torpedo they have (adapted photon), this torpedo does increased damage to small ships, and less damage to battleships (i think its battleships, not large ships, the galaxy is a battleship). therefore its best used against small ships, where it does good damage. but less useful vs large ships, and very weak against battleships.

the regen scube does all its damage with the phaser, which does equal damage to every ship size. so a regen scube is the only scube you should make vs warpins.

the galaxy in particular has TWA, so it does extra to lr but takes more from sr

I feel for you.  I read that part in the guide where it said that my scratch-and-win ticket would pay out...
But it didn't even say "please play again," the damned thing just read "Do Not Remove This Tag From Mattress"

I wasn't sure what that meant, but the 7-11 clerk assured me several times that my 'ticket' was not a winner.

just thought id add that feds in general have an easier time against borg cos they have loads of ships with torps, especially warpins, they have loads and loads of torps. the weakest warpin (the e1) comes with a special that unloads even MOAR torps at the start of battle. the rest are big and strong and take a lot of punishment, and the borg dont have an easy way to get that finishing blow (such as proximity torp or meta d).

you could consider getting something big with torps, in a hurry a 2 torp assim will put out some pain on warpins, but make sure you check your targets frequently, so it doesnt waste fire on sabres (miss a lot) or monsoons (miss a fair amount and does less damage).

borg's only small sized combat ship is the probe, which doesnt take a lot of pain and regens pretty slowly, a couple of them could help if u just wanna make 40% of torps miss. beware they dont waste fire on intreps/e1s with adai, you'll need all your dps for sure.

Yup, Myles got it spot on - the Regeneration Scout Cube will last longer and recover quicker against most Warp Ins, however, that does not account for gameplay or tech up choices. :)

If you can build 8 Regeneration Scubes, that doesn't mean you should - teching up to a Sphere would have served quite well in that situation, as Scubes are not known for their longevity.

Currently the Borg are not extremely open with options, but the next patch (soon) will introduce some new early game Borg measures which will enhance their flexibility at that stage
