Yeah, the Command Cube back then was quite... interesting  ^-^

"Warp-In" stuff back then was also really... unbalanced

Oh, and make sure you check out the best unit in the game and its ability to win at everything - the Klingon Chor!

Lol I'll have to try the chor out!

Ufff the good'ol days of fleets of Chors annihilating anything they got close too.
Just for fun, compare the cost and stats of the NeghVar vs the Chor :D

Oh and how can one forget the great Romulan Intel center and its ability to click-kill any ship in the game. Damn it was nice to play hide and seek with Talons -.- Oh and that was without the ping available at your base and the rommie was able to click-kill your con ship b4 you could build the sensor station :D

Ah yes, the good old days of Imbalances :D Too bad so few of you were active back then :P

I like the old Noxter, and I would love to see the new Noxter Economy. I like some of the old Beta 2 stuff though. The Spacedock for the feds was a good idea. The canaveral could still be build able. The fusion cube idea is still pretty good, and I like the command cube despite the looks were pretty corny. The tactical cube was weird. Why no beam weapons? I still like Beta 2. I love the Noxter, and I just am dying to see the Ciadan and Iconians. Can't there be any sneak peaks/demos?

Well, I can see why so many of the old school players are still active. :innocent:  I'm glad I missed those days, to be honest.  I tried the chors out.  That was a blast.  I sent a fleet of 16 over to a medium fed base that had 2 outposts and about 12 turrets.  Wiped out the base and only lost 3 chors. :D  But hey, if every faction has something that makes them overpowered, then it's all good, right? :P  The Klingons had chors, the rommies the intelligence center, the feds had galaxies streaming toward your base, the borg had wacky fusion cubes, and the noxter....well, I bet the noxter died a lot.

I'm sure when they have more, they'll give us some updates, Fralo.  For the most part, we've only seen concept designs for the noxter and a bit of how their gameplay will be unique.  It was nice to see what the early concept for them was like. :)

Well, Ciadan and Iconians haven't even hit the drawing board ;) . Canaveral is still buildable by the way, and the Command Cube will be making a return :P

where is the download for this? link anyone?

Home FO page -> "Downloads" link -> "Old Fleet Operations Releases" link

Don't forget to download both the installer ( "Fleet Operations 2.0 Beta" ) and the patch ( "Fleet Operations 2.0 Beta Patch 2" ) and apply the patch before playing.

Keep in mind too, that there is no "official" support for this old version of FO. So, if you are having problems, ask in the forums and pray. :)

Sometimes, unbalanced is just what you need. Just knock someone around for a while.

It is indeed - but a very old and out of date one. A lot will change in the meantime  :sweatdrop: . Both gameplay and physical modeling as I understand it has not been really considered for when the two factions will be released.
