Main Deflector

Read that and try to imagine Warping without it...

Tom Paris went at warp 10...but that was Voyager. And of the things Voyager has screwed up, that's the worst.  Paris became allergic to water, then had to breathe special air, then sprouted gills, and finally became a lizard thing, then he mated with Janeway while the two were amphibians as a result of being everywhere at once from the second warp 10 flight . Worst Voyager episode...ever. I'm not going to even bother explaining all of how his shuttlecraft accomplished this, but it involved polarizing the hull plating  (See: Star Trek Enterprise.)

Fortunately. that episode was removed from canon. :D

Are you sure "Endgame", "Caretaker" or any other episode were better?

Better than Threshold?

everything is better than threshold lol

most errors can be explained away with tenous explanations if you're really willing to take ages thinking up coincidences to explain stuff.

but there's no fixing threshold no matter how hard you try, its the only episode i've heard of being disowned by its creators. even the corbomite manoeuvre was more believable.  :crybaby:

I just disowned the entire Voyager series.  Life is great! ^-^

voyager was my first ever star trek lol thats how i fell in love with trek
although i do admit it had its flaws, like the liberal application of technobabble. and the continuity errors.

If I'd started with Voyager, I would need a hell of a therapy.

Maybe that's why Spike TV was only showing it at around midnight or 1am a year or two ago.  Make sure no kiddies watch it as their first trek exposure.  I think the problem is the writers felt they could do whatever they wanted since it was in the Delta Quadrant, where not even continuity could reach it

The sad thing is that the story about a far away stranded ship could have been really great in general. But the writers messed it up in it's entirety, from the beginning to the crappiest finale in Star Trek show history. Villains I could never take serious, "victims" who basically got themselves corrupted and dozens of Borg encounters never leading to Voyager's destruction or assimilation (unbelievable remembering the encounters between Enterprise D and Borg). I think a more realistic ending would have been Voyager being destroyed by them, and with better writing that ending would at least have been for good reasons.

lol endgame really would have been five minutes long then:

Captains log: We're entering a big nebula looking for wormholes to Ensign Kim's mum's living room, hopefully it will be better decorated than Ensign Kim's quarters.

Borg Collective: We're Borg, get assimilated, resistance sucks.

Everyone else: Oh S**T

Voyager: GAK!

Future Janeway: Damn! I arrived five seconds too late and my time drive died. *whistles*

(Voyager's hull fragments float home at ludicrous speed)

THE END

I did like Voyager, despite some pretty questionable story progressions like how they interacted with the Borg and the episode which was struck off from canon. It sure had some low points. However, I did like the majority of it. I remember the elation at spotting a possible easter egg at seeing what looked to be a xenomorph head (gigers Alien) donning a Hirogen Trophy Board and duet episodes like Equinox and The Year of Hell.

In fact... I think the Year of Hell should have been part of the main timeline for one or more of the earlier series'. It would have been cool to see Voyager building up a rag tag fleet of mercenaries and vagabond; each crew with their own agendas and reasons for leaving their homes behind, with the crew of Voyager acting as a kind of conscience and role model. Relationships could be forged and broken, tensions rising and moral tested to their limits as these outcasts cut their path through the quadrant.

I also think that episodes like the one where the Kazon could have been explored in greater depth. I'd have quite liked to see how both storylines progressed with Suder, Doc and Paris teaming up in an ongoing Guerrilla war against the Kazon on Voyager, while the rest of the crew team up with the local tribe and ultimately learn a new way of life (which then has a lasting impact on them as they eventually continue on their journey after the Guerrilla war is won).

The series had some great moments which I wish they explored a bit more before moving on.

One 'Year of Hell' thing that the rest of the show could have benefitted from the the lack of auto-repair after the episodes (not repainting the ships markings wouldn't hurt...).

They could have done without losing almost 20 of their 4 shuttles, too...

Or 100 of their 150 crew members. :P
