Team Colors?

I need you guys help.

I've noticed in your FO mod you added team colors to all your new models for the game.


How is this done?

Though using PSP or is it set up in the SOD file when creating the model from scratch?


I wanted to add some team colors for models in my personal mod but cannot find a tutorials to help with this.

Thx for any help on this.

you have to set up an material which start with team_ ^_^

Can that be done with a graphic editor like PSP or does it need to be done with sod editor?

that has to be done during the process of assigning the materials to an object -> it has to be done with a modelling software

Ok, that hint helps for some stock A2 models but take a look at fscout.sod


I don't see any material(s) named team or team color yet the fed scout dose have team color in game?


Any ideas on how this model crates team color in game?

This is probebly not what your talking about but...Is there some way in V3 you all (as in the modding team) could make the colours available to choose from in Instant Action realistic to the races, such as the jade colour green for the borg like in the single player missions, and the lighter red for the klingons. Is this possible?

it will be possible to turn teamcolors off so you will see the units without any disturbing red, blue, green stuff :) you will still be shown in your choosen color on the minimap and the player menu

Oh, so the "team colours" really just cover up the normal single player colours of the units? Ok, well thanks.

Sorry for posting so many questions about this.

I know this is not a modding forum I was just hoping to get some help on this subject. You guys have done a great job with you FO mod and I was hoping you'd share some modding knowledge.

will this be an option, or will it be default?

come to think of it i never noticed team colours for the feds, only the other races in V2.

per default team colors will be enabled, but you can easily disable them in the FO launcher.


About the Teamcolor Modding problem: I use 3d Studio Max with the SOD exporter released allong with armada2 - should be available on every larger modding site. You have to start the name of a material with "team_" there to instruct the exporter to export it as team color. Cause i never worked with another moddelling tool - except softimage where it was the same - I have absolutely no clue why it doesn't work :blush:
