Do Starfleet Marines exist within the FO timeline? and if so will they be making an appearance?

You mean the Marines from Enterprise? All the other series had no "marines", the Starfleet officers were the marines pretty much (unless I forgot something from that DS9 episode showing a fighting force on the ground.) I don't recall them having "Starfleet Marines."

That DS9 battle had some officers in unique uniforms not seen anywhere else, who are considered by some to be marines.

The MACO'S and the non-canon Hazard Team was the only marines we saw in Starfleet. Hazard Team should have been canon...

Federation marines dont play a role in the Fleet Operations universe, and they are not considered to be existant. Local governments of planets do of course have some kind of planetary police, sometimes even a local military, that may even be deployed on starbases or foreign planets if there is a proper Federation mandate for it, but thats rarely the case. We consider the 'marines' seen in DS9 as terran forces. There is no thing like a Star Fleet Marine Corps in the Fleet Operations universe.

i still hope for a fed ship, developed for capturing ships, is there any chance that we could get such a ship in 4.0?  :naugthy:

No marines normally implies no marine-focused ship.

yep, as a Federation player is considered to playing Starfleet (just to be more precise) there wont be buildable troopships for them, as potential planetary militias are not part of Starfleet, but the Federation.

Will troopships be included in the hireable mercenaries?

Once upon a time, in information connected to the Kirk movies era, I remember something about a Marine division of Starfleet. There probably does exist a highly trained combat oriented section of and we have just never had occasion, save the Dominion War, when we might see them. We know that there are divisions such as Starfleet Medical so it's not unreasonable to believe they exist; after all Starfleet is essentially the military wing of the Federation, they just rarely have to exercise that role.

that may be true, however a boarding vessel currently won't fit in the role that the federation has in fleet operations.

haha, yea, the hazard team. if we at one point will have a map editor placeable (not buildable!!) voyager in fleet operations, it will for sure get a hazard team boarding option ;)

Enterprise would be better. Hazard Team might give Voyager a chance to survive.

Can't have that, now can we?
