sizes: 3 or 4?

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

could it be that besides the standard sizes big middle and smal there is also a "overly big" size?
because from a few poss about the breen cruiser i heard that it does the same damage to everything except stations and some ships.
so my litle question: are this ships exceptions or do they have their own size, which then s also used by stations ?

and which ships fall under that category?

I don't know if there is a category bigger than large ships, but if there is, I'd expect any Borg ship Sphere-sized and bigger would qualify.

There are two categories in fleet operations. Small, Medium, and Large and the second category which is destroyer, cruiser, support, battleship, station etc . These can be combined. So for instance, although the Defiant is a battleship, it is also a medium sized vessel.

The Breen cruiser's torps do increased damage to small vessels, and decreased damage to battleships. Due to the way missrates are calculated, this means that it does the same amount of damage to everything... except that to battleship classifications it has a damage penalty. Tricky, huh? ;)

If you want the real answers about what weapons do what, you will have to look at the odfs, or the specific information for each vessel. Most of this information can be found in the guide, but for individual weapon damage calculations you will have to look through the odfs themselves...  :whistling:

yep, there are 4 unit sizes: small, medium, large and station.
Most gamemechanics treat station-units as large units, but there are some mechanics that take them into account (like tricobalt torpedoes for example).
weapons that deal increased damage against large vessels, dont deal increased damage against stations, unless otherwise written in the tooltip.

The next patch however will upgrade a lot of the interface, as you will be able to see damage and stuff directly on the weapons tooltip. the new tooltips should be easier to read such mechanics stuff

nah, wie wont put strategies in the tooltips. Its the stuff you see at the moment either way (well except damage and reload times from old beta1 times), just in a better wrap-up ^-^

Can the font size be smaller? Some tool tips go all the way up the screen... And I do not what tool tips that will blind me from possible incoming ships while I'm trying to figure out which ship is which.

You should be able to turn tooltips off by clicking on one of the buttons in the top right corner Gamer :)
