Ships don't seem to react much to enemies near by

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Is it just me or does it seem like ships show little interest if an enemy is right next to them now?

Obviously if they're in weapons range they will shoot but on the last version ships often moved towards the enemy if they were too close but now they don't seem interested.

I also i find the ai a bit odd now as well, often i have to chase a lone ship about before i can attack it and because they all move at similar speeds it can be annoying, even when they're hit they often stop then start off again, though i mainly see the borg do this others do as well.

Yeah, try setting high movement autonomy, but many times even that doesn't make your ships engage the enemy close by. Several times i had my fleet standing in the middle of a hostile base and half of the ships was doing nothing until the moment i ordered them to attack something wich was only like 1cm out of their weapons range (high movement autonomy was on)... In previous versions they were obviously a lot more bloodthirsty.
Furthermore many times the ships prefer to try and hold their formation even if i didn't assign them any particular formation setting. So when i send a group of ships to attack something, the first two rows start firing and the last two rows just sit and stare, they don't go closer to be able to engage, but stay in their formation...

The AI does the same for me too, once "he" assigns a ship an order to go somewhere for example, that ship will not act if it gets engaged on the way. It just flies by and prays not to get torn apart. Sometimes it looks pretty cool with the borgs, as those greedos usually do weird things, but for other races its sort of strange...
