set ai settings to human

i know that the ai cheats in all sorts of ways.

so what game settings can i change, and what must i set them to so as to get the ai to cheat as little possible. eg what should ai build cost be set to etc.

yes it does but it scales it so that it plays more normal.

If in doubt just dvale the build cost and time in the advanced tab, to full and it plays a bit fairer

ok so adjust the build cost to full and it should be as close to human as possible, cool

well the ai will never be a fair opponent, as it has to build all ships to be fun to play against (if every klingon would always try bop rushes, it wouldn't be much fun), so the Ai has to have cheaper construction costs in order to even that out. The Normal AI is adjusted to be a match for an average player.

We are working on better ways for AI development in the future

ok so adjust the build cost to full and it should be as close to human as possible, cool

I adjust build cost and build time to about 1.2 and that makes it playable. You'll still get f**ked if your against the Borg, but it's better.

Lol ... AI will always be at the disadvantage because it can't think.

  Use the disadvantage in resources and buildtime you have to practice using better tactics!

I've figured it out, guys!

If you want to play a fair game, with an AI set to human, as the post title suggests, there's this little known program I've found that makes the AI seem almost human!

You have to download it, but it's free and definitely worth it.  It's called "Tunngle", and if you install it, make an account (takes 2 seconds) and then select TCP/IP from the multiplayer options (This is misleading.  All it means is you've selected multiple AIs), you can make a game, and then several AIs will be added to your game as well.  These AIs are very life like, and use the same resource settings and tech tree that you do!  It's amazing!

Maybe a long time from now Optec and Doca will figure out how to make a better AI.  But that's going to be a long ways off, sadly.  Oh, the above was intended as a funny joke, so don't take it too seriously   But come and play a game anyway, if you haven't.  It can be tons of fun.

I wouldn't recommend changing the settings really, as that might end up screwing up how the AI builds in the first place... unless you want to win everytime
