Hm, as my clear flagship, I'd like to command a B'rel, the most awesomest warship of the Empire. Just give it a full complement of intelligent Klingons and we're good to go. We can loot the extra weapons later 
WHAT!? That's only enough to last us a few hours you fo - I mean captain ...

An intelligent Klingon crew is a bad thing for 2 reasons:
1) Harder to con into not killing you as a coward.
2) Contradiction in terms.
