Norexan vs Valdore-type

DOCaEdit: This is split up from this topic with a discussion beginning about why the valdore-type is called norexan in fleet operations

see its the opposite for me, i have klingons and romulans both on medium and they the klingons have a lot of Negh'Vars and the roms have huge amounts of D'Dederix and Nerexian *(which i think is actualy called a valdore...)

Valdore was the single ship and the community tends to name the complete class Valdore. The warbird class is called Norexan. Just like Enterprise and Galaxy Class.

Indeed, she says "of the Warbird Valdore" that does suggest that only the ship itself is the Valdore, not the entire class.

Actually, all of the romulan commanders introduced themselves as "i am commander blahblahblah of the warbird shipname", no matter what class of ship they were on. I remember a couple episodes of TNG in particular where this happened.

Indeed, my guess is the Romulans consider all their ships warbirds, and just have different types of "Warbird"

there is no canon definition of the class name, the term 'norexan' originates from the star trek card game. can also be read about here.

If you put 2 versions of the ship (1 green, 1 brown with different tech in), in the game, you could have a Norexan and a Valdore Class.

just as an example, why i don't like the idea

I just watched Nemisis and indeed you are right, She intruduces the ship as the "Warbird Valdore".

Still i think its a cool name and deserves a class... mabye you guys could design it?

i have a few designs ill upload in a seperate thread sooner or later.

actually "DOCa Cola" class sounds cool. we could use Your profile's picture as a model. i've always wanted to see a coke can firing a phaser . even if not buildable from yard this could be a gr8 map object.

Yeah, it could be a new Descent model.

Anyway, I prefer "Norexan" to "Valdore" because, IMO, it sounds more Romulan/Roman. Why anyone would believe that the Romulans use the same prototyping system that the Feds use is anyones guess.

That would be sweet it could be this uber god ship that can one shot tavaras and cubes  and if it is in danger of being destroyed it rewrites the aramada 2 engine and takes over the host computer.
