No borgification?

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

They are on todo, some Federation vessels already have them, but we will probably redo them a bit

If they are still being planned, why not look at some of the ships on BCfiles.com? They have some interesting designs for assimilation nodes.

Here is one, a Galaxy Class; http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Assimilated_USS_Galaxy;93634

Just go to http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/, type Assimilated into the search bar and a good number come up. Some are pretty decent.

thats kinda cool but i dont like it when they change the nacelle colors

hmm this isn't a good example..looks unprofessional...not really borg like  :borg:

So Borg-like means never changing the appearance and always keeping it looking like the original? That one is better than any other assimilations (including FO).

But that unsymmetrical tube hanging on the nacelle does not look Borg at all to me. T_T.

So the Borg can only have assimilated ships that have nothing more than a few black patches on the hull?

when the borg assimilate a vessel they do not seem to care about symmetry. they will do one thing to one side and something totally different to the other. even borg drones are unsymmetrical.

...and not even all Borg vessels are completely symmetrical (think of Lore's group of Borg... ); maybe on the macro scale (aka, all cubes are x dimension by x by x), most of the Borg ships are, but probably not on the micro scale (3 alcoves over here, 4 over there) --which would probably be what a newly commandeered ship would be like.  :borg:

As far as assimilation goes I think, no green nacelles/deflectors, keep it small but noticeable and asymmetry looks better as it looks half done otherwise.

The Nacelles should change to green if the Borg upgrade the warp core, because the Borg-tech warp-core glows green.  If the borg replace the shields, they should be borg shields.

Of course, this means if you saw a few assimilated vessels inbound, and 2 of them had green nacelle glows, you'd at least know that if you want to retreat, those need to be disabled or destroyed, because they're abnormally fast.

I've been reading this thread. And I really think this is a nice topic.
I really do agree with alot of the comments here. Borg are cool, even though they scare me when my romulan border isn't up and they're bombarding me with ships so i can't build my defense border.  :'(
