Some of the romulan ship names are real tongue twisters; perhaps someone could clue me in no how to say them?
Cehlaer - is it "seh-layer", "seh-lair", what?
Saeihr - i'm not really sure about this one... is it "sayer"?
Anyone else have problems pronouncing names?

Yea, Romulan is a bit tricky, but there are some good dictionaries and books for it. The "h" has more pronounciation like in english

Cehlaer should be something like "seh-lair", perhaps a bit rounder, like in leer-yet, something in between

Saeihr would be something like "sa-e-yer", with the "yer" like in sayer as you suggested, so just "sayer" with an additional e in the middle. the "h" seems to cause romulan vocals before it to be spelled seperately.. but not in all cases

well i think we will only get an answer if we ask one  :crybaby: they even have words with "fvh" and i dont know how to get that into sound, but all in all Romulan seems to sound more Latin, with seperated vocals

maybe the "S'" is like the Noun and verb endings in Latin

Thanks for the help. Perhaps if you change "cehlaer" to "celaher" (thats how i thought it was for the longest time), and "saeihr" to "saiher" (said sai-er). I know it seems silly, but i think those are better names for those anyways. I'm curious: the original name of the the remore (remoore), is that a joke for R. Moore?

that was actually a typo :D It was ment to be called "Remore" in the first way, but i messed it up when writing the first odfs and were to lazy to correct them

We will stick with the Romulan names, as they are "real" Romulan. Cehlaer Classis actually the Romulan "Galaxy Class", although not directly inspired by the Federation Galaxy Class, the Cehlaer is quite a few years newer

The Saeihr Class is the "Star Class", a prototype of a deep space, escort or scout vessel, equipped with weapons using replicatable or mineable ammunition (projectile based weapons) instead of plasma or antimatter based weapons
