Mandril Class

Where did the Mandril Class get its name from? The only 'Mandrill' I can find is a large monkey and a funk band.

Neither sound like they could have inspired the design of a mining freighter.

Maybe it is from a term where "Man drills" into the ground to get oil? idk, that is my only idea.

Its the name of a fictional colony on Alpha Centaury, as we thought that there should also be some non-terran references on ships in the 24th century
